Also this year I participated in the Sumamuni (local language) Speech Event. From young to old, participants presented their stories in the different languages of the Yaeayam region. I presented a recipe of a breakfast dish that I often serve at my accommodation, Okinawan style seasoned steamed rice. Hopefully it serves as one example on how to use the local language in a daily setting, especially for those who only speak it limitedly.
